A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC) is reporting higher-than-normal energy usage throughout the service area for the first week of 2018.

Since the holiday break, subfreezing temperatures have lingered for days and are expected throughout the month of January. This will force cooperative members to use more electricity to heat their homes and businesses. The Cooperative is warning that the additional energy consumption will lead to higher electricity bills. (Read More)

Co-op Board makes district boundary adjustment

To more equally distribute the number of members served by directors in each district, A&N Electric Cooperative’s Board recently voted to adjust the boundary line between Districts 1 and 2. (Read more)

A&N's 77th Annual Meeting

As summer breezes waved an American flag held atop a co-op bucket truck, A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC) President & CEO Butch Williamson welcomed attendees to the cooperative’s 77th Annual Meeting, held on Thursday evening, Aug. 24 at Nandua High School in Onley. (Read More)

Soda Can Lamp Workshop

Children construct lamps with a kit and a recycled soda can. A&N Electric Cooperative has been leading soda can lamp workshops for area children for about  two decades. (See more photos)

School Electrical Safety Demonstration

In late January, A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC), along with three fellow Virginia electric cooperatives, began seeking formal approval for a pilot program to provide additional solar energy to interested members. If approved, the Community Solar Pilot Project will allow members of the cooperative to subscribe to solar energy generated from two facilities in Virginia.  (Read More)

Holland appointed to Co-Op Board

Penney P. Holland, a resident of Franktown, Virginia was selected as the District 4 Director by the A&N Electric Cooperative Board to fill the unexpired term of the late James G. Collins, Jr. (read more)

Students Selected for 2017 Youth Tour

The winners of the annual essay contest to determine which local students represent A&N Electric Cooperative at the annual National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour have been selected. Students were graded anonymously by a panel of judges who selected a winner to represent each participating high school. (Read more)
