Accomack County has issued a local state of emergency declaration amid power outages in connection with the snow and wind that has swept across the Eastern Shore.
Warming shelters at Arcadia and Nandua high schools will open Monday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m., and remain open until Tuesday, Feb., 24, until 11 a.m.
This will allow those without power to have heat and electricity.
Entry at both buildings will be from the south side near the gymnasium.
