A&N Electric Cooperative now offers members two new ways to better manage their energy use and potentially reduce monthly costs: a Smart Thermostat Program and access to My Co-op Marketplace.
Together, these programs provide members with convenient, cost-effective tools to improve home energy efficiency — especially for those considering a smart thermostat upgrade.
Heating and cooling account for nearly half of a typical household’s annual energy use. Through A&N Electric Cooperative’s Smart Thermostat Program, members can reduce energy consumption and earn rewards by allowing brief, limited adjustments to their Wi-Fi-enabled thermostats during periods of peak energy demand. The program is voluntary, free to join, and designed with member comfort in mind. Participants maintain full control and can override adjustments at any time. Members who enroll receive a one-time $25 bill credit after their first year of participation. Log onto anec.com and search “thermostat program” to see if you’re existing smart thermostat is compatible.
For members who do not yet own a smart thermostat, the My Co-op Marketplace offers an easy solution. Launched in partnership with Old Dominion Electric Cooperative, the online platform provides exclusive, instant discounts on a wide range of energy-efficient products, including smart thermostats, LED lighting, smart power strips, and weatherization tools. Products are shipped directly to members’ homes, with savings automatically applied at checkout.
By combining these two programs, members can maximize savings by purchasing a discounted smart thermostat through the Marketplace and enrolling it in the Smart Thermostat Program to receive a bill credit and ongoing energy savings.
“These programs are designed to give our members practical, affordable ways to manage their energy use,” said A&N Electric Cooperative spokesperson Jay Diem. “Whether upgrading to a smart thermostat or simply looking for everyday efficiency improvements, members now have more tools than ever to save.”
The My Co-op Marketplace is now available to A&N Electric Cooperative members, and enrollment in the Smart Thermostat Program is open year-round.
