ANEC Prepares for Hurricane Florence

A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC) is preparing for severe weather associated with Hurricane Florence. Currently the projected path of the hurricane predicts it will make landfall on the East Coast in North Carolina, with the effects of the storm extending into our area. At this time, forecasters are calling for tropical storm force winds and significant flooding to affect our service area.

The cooperative will continue to monitor the storm’s movement and will be prepared to react to any changes in its projected path.

Generator Safety

Some people prepare for the possibility of power outages by buying an electric generator as a standby system to keep lights and appliances running until service is restored.

A generator may be very beneficial during an extended outage. Generators can also pose serious safety hazards to you and to others. Be sure to follow all safety instructions provided by the manufacturer.
