W.E. "Ted" Shockley, III
W.E. “Ted” Shockley III, who lives near Belle Haven, has served District 3 Director on the A&N Electric Cooperative board since 2020.
Shockley holds a Credentialed Cooperative Director certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He serves on ANEC’s finance committee and wage and benefits committee.
Shockley’s priorities as a board director are for ANEC to provide members with the lowest rates and best service, for the cooperative to be responsive to and transparent with its members, and for the cooperative to offer a superior working environment for its employees.
Shockley is editor, general manager and co-owner of the weekly Eastern Shore Post newspaper and monthly Eastern Shore First newsmagazine.
He previously served as chairman of the Eastern Shore Public Library Board of Trustees and on the Eastern Shore Community College Advisory Board.
He is a 2023 recipient of the Community Service Award presented by the Northampton County Chapter NAACP and Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore.
Shockley holds a degree in English from Salisbury University and is a 1991 graduate of Northampton High School.
He and his wife, Amy, have two adult children. He is the elder son of Bill Shockley of Cheriton and the late Joyce H. Shockley.
